Community CROPS April 2007 Newsletter
Spring is definitely here, and we are busy getting our new and existing community gardens open. We have two confirmed locations, one at 30th and Q Streets, and one at 26th and N Streets. The latter will be a collaboration with the Lighthouse, the Asian Center, and will have youth gardens and community garden plots. Gardeners have been signing up in record numbers this year, and we are looking forward to a great season with everyone. In addition, our farming project is going well. The new farmers are just finishing up some training on marketing and organic growing and are eager to get out into the field.
Are you ready for spring? It's a great time to be planting potatoes, peas and lettuce so you will have your own fresh produce to harvest soon.
