Sunset Community Farm is used by participants in the Growing Farmers Program to start their farm business by growing and selling fruits, vegetables, poultry and bees. Community CROPS oversees the entire farm, and grows some crops for our CSA (vegetable subscription program).
Everyone is welcome, whether you want to see a working sustainable vegetable farm, or are interested in having a plot of your own next year. Bring your friends. Kids are very welcome!
Farm Directions
The farm is at SW 40th and West F Streets. Take A Street west to SW 40th and turn right. Follow the road to F Street and turn left. You'll see a red building on your immediate right, which is the farm site. Signs will be posted.
Map to the farm Note: Occasionally map sites recommend taking West O to SW 40th Street, but it has been closed from that side. You need to go out west A Street to get to the farm.
Group Bike Ride
We're planning a group bike ride to the farm for everyone who wants to join in. We'll even have a special raffle for you! Meet at 4:45pm at Cooper Park (by the shelter at 8th and E) to ride out to the farm. The group will leave the farm around 6:30pm to ride back together.
Wear bright clothes and a helmet. Be aware that the main route will include much of West A Street that doesn't have a shoulder.
