P Street Community Garden
The garden at 23rd and P Streets is the first community garden created by the project in 2003. Volunteers took an empty city-owned lot, cleaned it up, dug up the weeds and planted vegetables. This garden has Iraqi and Sudanese gardeners as well as native-born Americans. They have a distinctive shed marking their site.
