Community CROPS Job Openings - 2010

In addition to the paid positions listed below, we also welcome those that want to do unpaid internships or specific projects. We can be flexible so you can get the school credit or volunteer hours you need.

Farm Production Coordinator

The Farm Production Coordinator will manage sustainable vegetable production at the CROPS training farm for a 115-member CSA, 2 local farmers’ markets and local restaurant and grocery store sales. Production duties will include planning, seed purchasing, seed starting, tractor and hand cultivating, harvesting, packing, sales and record keeping. Additional duties will include supervising and teaching volunteers, interns and farmers in the training program while in the field.

Farm Intern

This is a paid internship, 20-40 hours per week, working in the field with the Farm Production Coordinator, and helping with the CSA and farmers' markets. The position will last from mid-April to the end of October and pay $9-10/hr.

Qualifications: Previous experience in organic agriculture, gardening, working with varied cultures, or community organizing beneficial. Good driving record required. Must be able to lift 50 lbs, work outside for long periods of time and be available to work evenings and weekends as needed.
